Hotels

My job includes a fair amount of travelling. Some time ago I started taking pictures in every hotel I stayed in. Usually these pictures are  taken with Hipstamatic/Polarize/Lo-Mob/Plastic Bullet apps for iPhone. I don’t take these pictures to show how the rooms/views actually look like, it’s more about how these rooms and places make me feel or how they look to me when viewing the room from my bed or looking out of the window. So in this entry I will show you a small selection of my hotel pictures – hotel rooms, views out of the window, reflections…

  1. Very nice Anja! Its great to see places captured in a way that they conjure lots of emotions or a suspension of emotions. I also like the fact you took them with an Iphone, it zooms in on a global feeling rather than a realistic view 🙂 I remember you mentioning these photos to me… its great to finally see them. Hope you’re having a great start of week. I should be posting my entry this evening… went out and shot some in the snowstorm. Almost froze my hand and my camera 🙂

    1. Hope your hands and your camera have survived the snowstorm!
In a way it just felt more natural taking these pictures with an iPhone. I think a part of it may be the different focal length, but not all of it. The rather blurry, undefined images seem to fit better than the precise pictures I could take with my Canon or Leica…
Really only trying to follw my instincts and see what happens! 🙂

      1. I think that is the way to approach this type of photography… or style of. Keep on following your instincts 😉

Yeah, my hands are doing fine! I might try that experiment again… maybe also come up with thin gloves that don’t make your hands cold, I’ll probably make a fortune with photographers
